Challenge

This term we started our unit of work by collecting rubbish from school lunches on Tuesday of the first week from throughout the school. We used the lunch rubbish to make a gladwrap ball and chippee chain to show just how much rubbish is in the children's lunch boxes. The challenge this term is to reduce this rubbish!

Enterprise

The brief was to design a toy using the latest technology for the 2017 Toy Expo. This is our Toy Expo which we held on the 27th and 28th of June with a brief explanation of the children's designs. Enjoy!

Dessa Term 1

We had fun dressing up. It was Dessa's last day with us. We had a good time when Dessa was teaching us. She used to talk funny when she did the roll. We will miss her.

First Butterfly

Our first butterfly to hatch in the classroom!

Monarch's Inside!

It was getting too cold outside so we brought in all the chrysalis's into our classroom and hang them on a bamboo stick above Mrs Cowley's table. One is about to hatch. We hope if they hatch at night that it will be too cold for them to fly or else the alarms will go off!

Our First Monarch Butterfly

It was exciting to be able to release our first monarch butterfly.The butterfly was enjoying its home in the shade house and didn't want to be released at first. Once it came out it headed straight up into the trees.

Rubbish at Nayland Primary

There is a problem with rubbish at Nayland Primary School. Much of the rubbish was in the corners where it has been blown by the wind. The majority of the rubbish was morning tea wrappers. Some of the rubbish might have come from the dairy.

Beach Day

Beach Day 2017 on PhotoPeach On Tuesday 21 February Moana Syndicate went to Tahunanui Beach for Beach Day. We did six different activities as a rotation and we were put into six groups. The rotations were swimming, sand sculptures,touch rugby, playground, bucket races/ petanque and moat making. In sandcastle making I raked a circle and me and my friend dug it out. While my friend was still digging I made the bridge. Deklan After swimming we went on the playground. We climbed the spider web mountain. I got to the top. It was scary. I climbed down. Kayden First up was swimming. We had races from the beach to Miss Huntley. It was really hard to run in the water and I kept falling over. Next was moat making. I went in a group with Ruby and Emma. Together we created a basic moat then we connected our moat with two other groups moats. Emma came up with the idea of a sanctuary for sea creatures. Fiona My favourite was swimming because it felt clod in the water. I tried to catch a fish but it was too fast but it was fun. Beyon The playground was fun because I climbed the rocket slide to the third floor. It was so hard to get back down, but I made it. Then I went to the climbing thing. I made it to the tippy top with no platform and down…Then I went to the twirly thing. It was cool. Eli
